Doesnt the vin# "w" or "x" have anything to do with the hp and torque. I already know my new engine was converted from a 4wd but what is the diff in the vin? Thanks
Andrew

so my truck 91 dime based on stats, would beat my friends 94 dime (both 5 spds)
and my Dad 98 2wd would kill us even with an auto (stock)
But miles and real life play into it could play in to it
91 - 56,500 miles (thats correct 56,500 orignal) and 10 wide rear tires
94 - like 67000 or 68000 miles and stock size tires
98 - 256000 miles with a driverside valve train knocking and 91 stock rim and tire
so i could maybe the 98 with the 91 (don't want run the 98 hard)

the 2.8 and 2.2 are both slow( maybe 19 sec vehicles???)
the 4.3 is average( 16 second vehicle ... maybe 15 something)
other things to consider are gearing, driver, actual wheel hp and torque it is putting to the ground. also race prep.

Yes the 2.8's and 2.2's are slow. THe 2.8's are a bit better than the 2.2's but still.
THe 4.3's came out with different hp levels.
TBI 160hp
CPI vin W 195hp 260lb.ft tq
The newer Vortec (96+) 4.3's have 180- 190hp.
