Radiator in the bed with efans is a bad idea. First, carefull engineering is required to avoid air lock problems. Second, above 30mph or so fans are not needed on a front mounted radiator because the motion of the vehicle through the air forces enough air through the radiator to cool the engine. Efans create barely enough flow to cool an engine at low rpm. They will not flow enough air to cool an engine at highway speeds for long. Efans definately will not cool during sustained performance driving, going up long grades, or towing. You COULD put a big scoop over the cab to force air through the radiator at speed, but that would be so ricer.

There's a man in my town that put a 350 in a early 80's Toyota 4x4 truck. He
put the radiator in the bed mounted in a box with elec. fans. He uses the truck
to tow a landscaping trailer and been doing so 5 days a week for I know 12 years
now with no problems.

What I think he is refefreing to is a setup similar to Lingenfelter's Sonoma. This one has a 427 twin turbo AWD and it has the radiator in the bed with some Efans. the truck was really cool, but very expensive as well.

I didn't say it wouldn't work. I simply listed a few of the issues you'll need to work out to make it work.
